Congratulations to Ali Lewis-Dale - Teacher of the Term Summer 2012

We're getting soooo excited about the Olympics!
Ooh – we’re so, so excited about the Olympics here at Puddle Ducks. Can you tell?!! We are REALLY getting into the spirit of it!
There is a small book being sold for the 2012 Olympics called “The Little Book of Olympic Spirit” with quotes from great Olympians. In this book, Michael Phelps (who we rather admire of course!) said “It seems as if every day I’m in a sort of dream world. Sometimes you have to sort of pinch yourself to see if it’s really real. I’m just happy I’m in the real world”.

Do you agree with Bill Gates?
Bill Gates, Founder of the Gates Foundation, said “Great teachers have the power to change the world”.
I read the quote in my Twitter stream, and of course I “favourited” it straight away. Because that sentiment is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why our teacher-training is so intensive and why our teachers are so passionate about their job.

Tina's top tips for water safety - remember SAFE!
Last week I gave an assembly about Water Safety at my local primary school, having been inspired by the RLSS Water Safety Awareness campaign.
120 children with ages ranging from 5 – 11 (reception through to Y6) meant it needed to be very visual with lots of props to help represent the four areas where water safety lessons can be applied:
(1) At home
(2) Out and about near rivers, canals, lakes, reservoirs etc
(3) at the swimming pool
(4) at the beach
