About the pool
Location: In the village of Allestree in Derby
Exclusivity: Puddle Ducks have exclusive use
Changing rooms: One changing room for females and another for males with direct access to pool. Male changing areas can be used by females. See notices locally.
Poolside Assistant: There is no Poolside Assistant.
Pool Temp: 30-31oC
Pool Dimensions: 22x7m
Depth: 0.7 – 1.7m
Max Preschool Class Ratios: 8 children/adult pairs:1 teacher (1 adult per child)
Parking: Park in the Sports facilities section to the right of the main school building.
Other: Once you have parked your car, turn right & go up the steps to the pool building (separate grey structure) turn right at the top of the steps & you will find the pool entrance (look out for the Puddle Ducks A Frame)
A baby warm suit is recommended for Floaties & Splashers
Please note the term here is shorter than usual due to the availability of the pool from November to February. Spring term will be 13 weeks as per our usual term length
About the teachers
Jane Leyland
Jane joined us with her gorgeous baby Isabel in our Floaties class when she was just a few weeks old & she is now a fabulous Kicker, It was always evident that Jane loved her classes & time in the pool with Isabel, she was extremely confident & relaxed too. So much so that she trained to be a teacher, her passion & committment to her little swimmers is clear & she has the sweetest nature. Jane looks forward to meeting you in a class soon !
Nadia Soar
Nadia joined Puddle Ducks as a customer with her daughter Sophie-Mai in our Little Dippers class, she was so impressed with our classes that she pursued her "dream job" (her words) & has trained to teach for us. Nadia has a wonderful manner with babies & children & will soon have her little swimmers & parents brimming with confidence, Her smile is pretty awesome too. Nadia will welcome you to her class with open arms !
Cate Woodrow-Smith
Cate’s fun loving personality, natural warmth & love of children are all great qualities for a teacher. However the real buzz comes from seeing a Floatie develop & progress to their first totally independent swim, it’s a real WOW factor and makes her so proud.
