About the pool
Location: plush Hotel, Redhill, North Somerset BS40 5TD (near Bristol International Airport).
Exclusivity: Puddle Ducks have exclusive use during hire times.
Changing rooms: There are two small changing rooms plus an additional screened off changing area.
Poolside Assistant: There is no Puddle Ducks poolside assistant.
Pool Temp: 32oC
Pool Dimensions: 6m x 10m
Depth: 0.75m graduating to 1.4m
Max Preschool Class Ratios: 6 or 7 children/adult pairs:1 teacher
Parking: From the A38 turn into Lye Hole Lane – look out for a brown sign for the “plush Hotel”. The entrance to the hotel is along the lane on the right hand side and is sign-posted. Turn right at the sign and down a private drive.
Other: The pool building is right next to the car park and accessible via steps or a slope (see signposts). Please take care if using the steps. No prams or car seats please. The hotel is a small independent and has limited dining space and so regrettably cannot offer refreshments in the hotel to Puddle Ducks customers on a weekly basis. If the sun is shining you are more than welcome to stop for refreshments / lunch in the gardens. PLEASE TAKE CARE BEFORE AND AFTER CLASSES AS THERE IS A DEEP POND OUTSIDE THE POOL BUILDING.
About the teachers
Tina Byatt
Tina was already a qualified swimming teacher when she decided to join us at Puddle Ducks but had been taking a break from the swimming pool whilst caring for her three young children. Now they are getting bigger she is raring to get back into the pool. Tina has a wonderful teaching style full of energy and fun but with a gentle side to help even the most timid of Puddle Ducks gain confidence in water. Tina is also the Puddle Ducks UK Deputy Technical Director which involves developing the Puddle Ducks teaching programme and training and assessing Puddle Ducks teachers all over the country.
Paula Crossman-Jones
After a successful career in financial services, Paula decided to throw caution to the wind and leave the desk job behind to forge a career in her favourite hobby – swimming! What luck for us at Puddle Ducks! Not only did Paula swim for her county, she is also a qualified swimming teacher with bags of experience. Paula’s love of swimming comes across in her classes where her warmth and encouragement puts both children and parents at ease. She’ll soon have those Dippers swimming lengths!
Catharine Young
You may already be familiar with Catharine as she is our Franchise Administrator and takes all our customer bookings and answers your queries. Catharine is so dedicated to Puddle Ducks that when we suggested she trained to become a Puddle Ducks teacher she jumped at the chance. Not only does this help her advise our customers better in the office, it gives Catharine a chance to be in the pool teaching your babies and children to swim. Catharine is a very focussed yet warm person and absolutely loves children. She can't wait to get your little ones swimming!
