Swimming with your baby or toddler is one of the most fun and rewarding things you can do together. And when you do it with games, songs and activities in the company of other parents and children who are also having a great time, they will be moments you'll treasure forever.
Puddle Ducks' baby and toddler swimming classes are based on a nationally recognised programme – giving you piece of mind early on that your baby knows the vital skills to be safe in and around water. You can bring your baby from almost newborn right up to 4 years old and all our classes are tailored to suit your child's age and ability.
When I first brought my daughter Daisy to a class it made me realise the importance of introducing babies to the water and the amazing benefits it can bring. The feeling you get when you see your baby gaining in confidence whilst also learning water safety skills is overwhelming and helped us bond even closer together.
We have weekly classes in and around Bradford, Leeds, Halifax and Harrogate in West Yorkshire, and would love to see you and your little one there.

Snow Does Not Stop Play! - 5th February 2012

Nomination for Teacher of the Term - Autumn 2011
Well done to Jenny, West Yorkshire Baby & Pre-school Swimming teacher, who was nominated for Teacher of the Term for the Autumn 2011 term.
Louise Harrison (mum to Ethan Splasher on a Thursday at Cedar Court) wrote;
"Although Ethan does cry for most of the lesson (every lesson) Jenny is always encouraging, talking to both me and Ethan and coming up with new ways to settle him. The lessons are fun and lively. Jenny is enthusiastic and engaging and clearly loves her job..
Well done! We would also like to add to this that Ethan is now one of our most chilled out Splashers, those few weeks of perserverance have really paid off for both Ethan and Louise.

Joshua started his swimming lessons when he was 16 months old and on the first lesson all we experienced was screaming with the second lesson being just the same.
Jenny the instructor was fabulous at putting us at ease, telling us that it is normal and to stick with it and we are so happy we have. By the third we were getting there and now at 22 months old he absolutely loves the lessons, laughing all the way through and can not wait for the Saturday morning class. We can see as each week goes by how much he is learning and the fantastic thing is that all these things could help to save his life.
I would recommend Puddle Ducks to anyone and everyone for children of all ages.

'I was recomended Puddle Ducks when I was pregnant by a friend and I must say I have not been disappointed. I have been taking my son Monty now for 8 months, since he was 5 weeks old and the experience has been amazing. In this time I have seen his water confidence grow along with my own. He can kick, splash, jump in, swim under water while holding his breath and closing his eyes, all these life saving skills are made fun and easy by our teacher Jenny who is fantastic. Puddle Ducks is excellent value for money and worth every penny. It is a great bonding experience with your baby and I would recomend it to anyone - just give it a go, you will love it as much as I do!'

A lovely story from one of our mums!!!
Hi Jenny,
I hope that you and Daisy have had a nice Christmas. Kate has enjoyed herself but I think she has missed swimming as the following story shows!!
She woke up from her afternoon nap shouting and pointing to the shelf where her nappies are kept. I had no idea what she so desperately wanted. Eventually she laid on her tummy and kicked!! She wanted her swim nappy. When i got a swim nappy off the shelf she started shouting for her Daddy. I had to explain that the pool was closed and Daddy was working and we would go swimming on Sunday. Again she lay on her tummy and kicked and this time did quack, quack, quack!!! Only by distracting her did i get her to stand up, to stop kicking and forget about swimming!!
Anyway, I just thought that I would share this with you as I found it very amusing!!

I am sending you this email to say thank you for all your support and encouragement over the last term.
It is very difficult with a young one that cries for a number of weeks, you constantly question whether you are doing the right thing by continuing to attend classes, and you think of every excuse not to go.
You thought of everything to make sure Ethan was comfortable, warm, safe and puddle was a great help.
Swimming with Ethan now, is like swimming with a different baby, perseverance really does pay, at his last lesson he was a happy, smiley baby . Your classes are lively, engaging, but most of all.....lots of fun.

“Amy had never been swimming before and attended the first lesson with Puddle ducks at 15 months of age joining the term halfway through. The lesson was a nightmare, she hated the water, the other children, the instructor and spent the entire class crying very loudly and clinging to her Dad. We persevered and the second class was marginally better in that she only scowled at everybody and whilst continuing to cling firmly.
In the third lesson, she let go and reluctantly joined in some of the splashing.
By the end of the term (6 lessons) Amy now physically pulls her Dad towards the pool, even before the children in the previous lesson had got out, and particularly enjoys “Jelly on a plate” but not waiting until the end of the song before jumping in.”

Nomination for Teacher of the Term (Summer 2011)
We would like to nominate Jenny Brown from West Yorkshire. My twin daughters only started with puddle ducks a few months ago but have come on so much thanks to Jenny. It didn't take them long to become relaxed with Jenny. Her communication prior to them starting was excellent too. Thank you Jenny.
