They made a splash at Disney
Our family were lucky enough to go to Orlando, Florida this year, to visit Disney World. I just wanted to share our story….
Our hotel was lovely, and had a large three-ringed swimming pool. Not once, but twice, we saw a small child almost drown in front of our eyes. Each time the toddler fell over, face first and it quickly became clear that they were unable to stand up with their face stuck underwater. I helped out in one situation, and another dad was quick to help the other, so luckily, tragedies were averted.
This just goes to show how important your teaching of “finding their feet” in the water truly is…
I was so proud of my boys Eli and Nathan (aged two and four). I am so happy with the choice we had made to make learning to swim a priority in their lives, and so thankful to Puddle Ducks for helping us to achieve this!
After visiting all the parks at Disney, going on amazing rides, and meeting Mickey Mouse and all his friends, when asked what the best part of Disney was, their answer was “playing in the pool!”

Not once, but twice, we saw a small child almost drown in front of ours and other parent’s eyes, in the kiddie pool no less. There were small toddlers who would fall over, face first, with their backs to their parents. They would catch themselves with their hands, but their little arms weren’t long enough to push their heads above water. And it quickly became clear that they were unable to stand up. The parents were unable, in both cases, to see that their child’s face was stuck underwater. I helped out in one situation, and another dad was quick to help the other, so luckily, tragedies were averted. This just goes to show how important your teaching of “finding their feet” in the water truly is…
