Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination for our local Teacher of the Term competition.
All of the entries were reviewed by Roxanna, from Oak House Pool, who acted as our judge - we are delighted to announce that she has selected Nikki Riley as our Teacher of the Term! Nikki teaches at John Whitgift Academy, Treetops Cottages, Owston Hall Hotel and Epworth Pool.
Here is the winning nomination, made by Deborah, Mum to Theodore, who swims at John Whitgift Academy...
"Nikki is amazing with all of the children. She remembers all of their individual quirks, successes and limitations and adapts each session to suit them effortlessly. Theodore loves his weekly sessions. She is always smiley, happy and puts the children and parents at ease."
Roxanna chose this nominations as she felt that Nikki's ability to be amazing with all of the children means that she doesn't have a favourite and she makes everyone feel special. Remembering and recognising everyone's success and limitations means she is engaged, caring and passionate about her job. Also being able to adapt the class, means that the children, parents and their well-being come first and Nikki is obviously very knowledgeable too to be able to do so. Making it effortless is also a great skill - it is not easy to teach different levels and abilities at the same time.
Congratulations Nikki! As winner of our local competition, Nikki will also be entered in to the national Puddle Ducks Teacher of the Term competition, so we wish her the best of luck.
Thanks to Roxanna and also Deborah, for making such a lovely nomination. We appreciate it.
