Puddle Ducks Doncaster provide deaf awareness training to all swimming teachers

We want to ensure that our classes in Doncaster, Grimsby, Gainsborough and Selby are accessible for deaf babies and children.

As such we have been working with the National Deaf Children's Society to ensure that we understand the needs of deaf children, who may otherwise have difficulty accessing swimming opportunities.

Research suggests that a third of deaf 12-year-olds can't swim 10 meteres, so we are pleased to be supporting young deaf people in the hope helping of helping them overcome barriers. By making small changes to our lessons, we can make them fully inclusive.

We were delighted to be in The Doncaster Star speaking about our deaf awareness training and you can click here to read the full article.
