At Puddle Ducks we're completely mad about swimming and to prove it, we encourage all swimmers to participate in our popular pyjama week.
As well as raising money for a local charity - Firefly Cancer Awareness and Support - pyjama week ensures that children know what it feels like to be in the water with clothes on. After all, if they fell in to water, they'd need to know that they could still use the actions that they are taught in classes and kick themselves to the surface and reach for the side.
We had great fun in the pool last week. All of our little swimmers learnt valuable water safety skills, whilst having fun! We have raised a fabulous amount for charity in the process too.
As well as being a brilliant opportunity for parents to bond with their baby or toddler, swimming has so many benefits, not least the fact that it can SAVE A LIFE one day! Swimming can improve eating and sleeping patterns and encourage a healthy attitude to regular exercise, and our teachers instil a love of water for the rest of your child's life with their gentle teaching methods.
Thanks to some of our little Puddle Ducks at John Whitgift Academy (pictured right and below) for their efforts during pyjama week. We're glad you loved it!
