Why Pyjama Week is important

Puddle Ducks Pyjama Week teaches invaluable personal survival skills as well as being lots of fun!

At Puddle Ducks Doncaster, we love swimming and think that everyone, no matter what age should learn to swim and experience the enjoyment of being in the water!

There are so many benefits to swimming and as well as being a lot of fun, we take pride in teaching a valuable, life-saving skill. In order to ensure that our babies and children have an understanding of what it could feel like to be in the water whilst clothed - as they would be if they fell in to water accidentally - we hold our popular pyjama week each term.

Whilst all of our classes each week have a water safety element to them, our Pyjama week gives all of our swimmers a regular session in pyjamas which will help them realise that although they feel heavier, they can still kick to the surface, turn and reach for the side.

Our Summer Pyjama Week is taking place between June 12th and 18th, so we'd encourage all of our babies, children (mummies and daddies) to come along in your PJ's.

This year, our summer pyjama week coincides with the STA's national 'Learn to Swim' Week and we are pleased to be supporting them in raising awareness of the importance of being able to swim and the enjoyment it can bring.

Here is what you need to know

  • Your child (and yourself) will need to wear PJ's. Don't forget to wear your usual double swim nappies underneath if needed
  • Bring a plastic carrier bag for wet pyjamas as they make bags and towels very wet!
  • We will have a lot of fun, as well as learning some valuable life-saving skills.

See you in your PJ's!
