A little bit about me
I live in Gloucester with my husband Scott. We have a one year old daughter called Phoebe.
My role at Puddle Ducks Gloucestershire
I’m a Poolside Assistant working every other Sunday afternoon at The Shrubberies School in Stonehouse. I joined the Puddle Ducks team in September 2019.
Why I love my job
I really enjoy my job because each week you see the children's progress and their confidence grow. It's also lovely to see parents having a wonderful time with their children in the pool.
Jobs I have done in the past
I have worked with children for many years, either in nurseries or preschools. I find it so rewarding and exciting.
Before I had my daughter, I worked in a local primary school as a teaching assistant. I was based in Early Years and absolutely loved being a big part of the children’s learning and development.
I'm now enjoying being at home with my daughter for most of the week.
My favourite class activity
I enjoy seeing all of the activities in the pool, but the one that stands out for me is the jumps from the big floats. It amazes me how brave the children are and how they sit and wait for the signal and just jump!
My hobbies/interests
I really enjoy walking and being outside. I also enjoy reading.
I love to go on holiday and I am usually planning our next trip away. We enjoy going on weekend breaks to Devon or Wales; there is nothing better than waking up by the sea!
Most memorable moment
I got married in Mexico on the beach. It was the most beautiful day. Myself and my husband both love the beach, so it was really special to have our close family with us at the beach when we got married. During the ceremony I remember looking out to sea and seeing turtles. Really was so magical.
My favourite animal
I love rabbits! I have a house rabbit called Oscar! He is so friendly and potters around the house. He loves to sit by the fridge and wait for carrots!
Favourite place in the world
I love to go on holiday with my family and our favourite place to go is Majorca because it is so beautiful. We stay in a place called Puerto Pollensa. It’s surrounded by mountains, with a beautiful beach and there is so much to see and do there. We love to explore the local markets and towns; though relaxing on the beach is my other favourite thing to do whilst there!
My favourite food
I love Cornish pasties, especially when I'm away in Cornwall! I can't get enough of them!
