Mother's day is all about family and spending time doing things you enjoy with those you love and care for the most. With under fives in tow, you’re very much in control of how the day will pan out so if you’re looking for ideas on how to spend the day, here are some of our favourite things to do on Mother's day with children under 5.
Obviously with the current ever evolving situation with Coronavirus, please do act responsibly and in line with the Government's advice regarding your activities and contact with others in your family as we want all of our Puddle Duck’s and their families to stay safe and well.
Have a tea party at home
If leaving the house isn’t your cup of tea, setting up a picnic at home with everyone's favourite nibbles and drinks can be a fun way to enjoy your Sunday lunch on Mother’s day. Older ones will love getting involved in the prep such as icing cookies, putting sandwiches on plates and setting up the picnic mat and little ones will love the novelty of being free to roam!
Finger painting, picture cards and stamping make excellent homemade Mothers day presents and have the bonus of keeping crafty fingers entertained for an hour or so too! Check out these 10 east crafts for toddlers from Country Living if you need some inspiration of where to get started.
Spring time equals lots of cute baby animals and hopefully some sun! Farm visits are a great option to get all the family involved so you can bring nanny along for a cake in the coffee shop too. With local delights including Odds Parm Farm, Beale Farm and Bucklebury Farm all nearby in and around Reading, you’re spoilt for choice! Here is a handy overview of each to see what you can expect. Ensure you wash your hand thoroughly before and after enjoying days out on the farm.
After a busy week, Sundays are made for snuggling! Grab your little ones favourite book, movie and toys for a relaxing PJ day on the sofa.
