If you starting swimming lessons with us this month for the first time or if your little one is moving up a level, we’re going to give you a helping hand to be prepared for your class so you know exactly what to bring along with you.
What to wear
Floaties, Splashers and Kickers (or if your little one isn’t fully toilet trained)
Please comply with our 'Double Nappy' policy:
- An approved snug-fitting neoprene (or other similar fabric) swim nappy (such as our Puddle Ducks swim nappy or one of a similar design)
- Underneath, a reusable cotton swim nappy with a disposable liner (such as our Eco NappyWrap & Liner) or a disposable swim nappy.
TIP: A swim nappy needs to be snug around the legs and waist to do its job properly (but not too tight!)
Little Dippers (or when your little one is potty trained)
- Cropped lycra shorts for boys (as Bermuda style shorts cause drag)
- One-piece swim suits for girls

Where you'll be
If your child is in Floaties, Splashers, Kickers or Little Dippers in our Baby & Pre-school programme then you will be in the water with them throughout the lesson. These sessions provide a fabulous bonding experience between you and your child and is all about building their water confidence, and often your’s too.
If your child is in any of our Swim Academy classes, they will be in the water on their own, with two teachers in the water and a ratio of 1 teacher:4 children. If the pool allows spectators, you will be able to watch from poolside.
Â
We hope this helps you prepare for your class – now all’s left to do is have a splashtastic time!
