Allie is one of our newest Teachers!

Having been a Puddle Ducks customer for over a year, swimming daughter Mabel, Allie joined the team in March 2019.

Allie had previously run her own cosmetics business which she continues to run alongside her teaching and Poolside Assisting.

Allie lives in Tonbridge and teaches in Tunbridge Wells and East Grinstead at the weekends initially.

Allie has always had a love for the water and now she realises her dream of inspiring that love in her very own Puddle Ducks!

    Tuesdays and Thursdays

It took me a long time to become confident in the water. I was pushed into the water by a stranger as a child before I could swim and that was probably the reason why I started with a fear of the water.

My parents encouraged my swimming lessons with the promise of a Five Star LP but even that wasn't enough encouragement!

I eventually broke my fear at secondary school and with the help of my PE teacher I achieved my 25 metre award. I've been a confident, strong swimmer ever since.

Having two children now, I have made it my mission to make the water environment as fun as possible. I didn't want my children to fear water - respect it, yes - but not fear it as I did. I also didn't want them missing out on water activities like I did growing up.

I started working at Puddle Ducks as a Poolside Assistant in 2016 and was approached to take up teaching. After some consideration, I decided to go for it!

My main driver was that I could help at least one nervous child to become confident in the water.

I am now so excited to be part of the Puddle Ducks team and to help you on your journey of teaching your child to swim.

    Mondays

I have always loved to swim, I just love the feeling of being in the water.

I started both my boys swimming when they were 12 weeks old and found it to be a beautiful experience (they are 4 and 6 now and both adore the water too).

I started with Puddle Ducks as a Poolside Assistant and then went on to do my teacher training the first chance I could.

It’s an amazing job on so many levels; from seeing the babies relaxing in the water for the first time with their carers, to seeing Dippers achieve fully independent swims is just so fulfilling. I also love the fact that we not only teach children swimming techniques but also how to keep themselves safe in the water – I am so lucky to be able to do a job I love that also allows me so much time with my family.
