This October, our little swimmers can get involved and raise money by learning water safety and survival skills, dressed in their favourite pyjamas. This year we are have chosen two wonderful charities that have close ties with Puddle Ducks Worcestershire; the Alzheimer’s Society and Birmingham Children's hospital.
Every year for one week, Puddle Ducks Worcestershire organises the Pyjama (PJ) Week and invites all of its little swimmers and parents to swap their swimming costumes for their pyjamas. The children are encouraged to collect sponsors and raise money for the chosen charities, as well learning water safety and survival skills whilst swimming in their clothes.
This year we’ve decided to support two charities that have close ties with our Puddle Ducks Worcestershire team; the Alzheimer’s Society, who work extremely hard to support those people who are living with Alzheimer’s. They are the only UK charity investing in research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention and Birmingham Children's Hospital which offers the very best specialist care for sick children Every patient deserves a childhood and it is only through the kindness, generosity and hard work of supporters raising vital funds that will help to provide the best possible facilities and environment for these exceptional children and young people in the future.
“We’re very proud of all of our little swimmers who are taking part in this year’s charity pyjama event and helping us to raise funds and awareness for our chosen charities. All the children love the experience of swimming in their clothes and at the same time have the opportunity to learn some key safety skills and of course it’s a wonderful way for us to support 2 charities that have real personal links to our Puddle Ducks Worcestershire team. We wish super good luck to all of our little swimmers and our Puddle Ducks team.” Gary Horton, owner Puddle Ducks Worcestershire.
So bring your favourite pyjamas and be ready to make a big splash to support both the Alzheimer’s society and Birmingham Children's hospital!
