Which level should I book?
Not sure which class is right for your child? Use the guide below.
🌊 Level 1
Level 1 is ideal if your child is new to independent swimming, or is not yet confidently swimming without buoyancy aids.
During this level, children will learn to:
✔ Build confidence swimming without a parent in the water
✔ Jump into the pool (with or without support)
✔ Swim on their front and back using floats and woggles
✔ Develop water confidence and basic water safety skills
✔ Learn to surface dive to pick up objects
✔ Progress towards swimming 5 metres independently with their face in the water, lifting their head to breathe
Choose Level 1 if your child cannot yet swim 5 metres independently.
🌊 Level 2
Level 2 is for children who can already swim independently for around 5 metres and are ready to develop longer, stronger swims.
Children joining Level 2 should already be able to:
✔ Swim independently for 5-10 metres
✔ Jump into the pool confidently without support
✔ Turn and swim back to the side independently
✔ Swim happily with their face in the water
✔ Float or swim on their back for around 5 metres
During Level 2 they'll continue developing these skills while working towards swimming longer distances with improved technique and stamina.
Choose Level 2 if your child can already swim at least 5 metres independently.
Still unsure? Don't worry! Our teachers assess every child during their first lesson to ensure they're in the most suitable class. If we feel another level would help them progress more confidently, we'll discuss this with you.
