Is Puddle Ducks Right for Me?

Helping you choose the right swimming lessons for your little one

We get it- it’s a big decision and you want to make the right one. So, to help you make that decision we thought we’d compile this summary of all things Puddle Ducks to help you decide if Puddle Ducks is right for you and your baby or child.

Small Group Lessons

Puddle Ducks lessons are delivered in small groups, which means babies and children can benefit from the social interaction that swimming can offer. Children also learn through mimicking/copying others so by swimming with their peers, children are encouraged to join in with new experiences.

Our clever teachers can adapt activities on a 1:1 basis to allow babies and children to progress at their own pace so you get the benefits associated with being in a group as well as in a 1:1 lesson.

Bonding Time

One of the main benefits of joining your little one in the lesson is the bonding time you get the opportunity to have. Half an hour of uninterrupted bonding with no distractions- your little will love the fact they have their grown up all to themselves.

Gain independence without the use of fixed buoyancy aids

We don’t use arm bands or other fixed floatation devices in our lessons. This is because these inhibit children being able to get into a flat swim position. Many of the types of fixed floatation devices available on the market keep children in a more vertical position, which is not the best position to swim in.

Whilst we can’t tell you not to use fixed buoyancy aids outside of lessons, we would advise against it to avoid confusion

Guided learning approach

Our guided learning approach to teaching means that little ones learn at their own pace. Nothing is right or wrong. We know all children are different- these differences extend to the pool too.

Guided learning refers to playful educational activities which give children the freedom to explore a learning goal in their own way, helping to promote creativity and imagination.

Taught by Expert teachers

Puddle Ducks Teachers are among the most highly trained in the industry, giving you the peace of mind that your little one is being taught by the best. With over 300 hours of training before they lead their own classes (50 hours in the classroom and the rest in the water) you can be sure you and your little one are in the best possible hands.

An STA World Partner, Puddle Ducks is recognised as a shining example of teaching standards by the world’s largest independent swimming teaching and lifesaving organisation.

Flexibility with Courtesy classes

Things don’t always go to plan- we get it! That’s why we offer courtesy classes for those times when you can’t make it to your class. Simply let us know you can’t attend a lesson and we will give you a courtesy class to use another time so you don’t miss out.  A courtesy class is an alternative lesson to your regular one on a different day or time or at a different pool.

New customer guarantee

What if my baby or child doesn’t enjoy it? We understand it can be a big decision, which is why we offer you our guarantee- if your baby/child hasn’t settled within your first three lessons you can cancel for a refund up to 48 hours before your 4th scheduled lesson.
