Read the winning nomination from Lisa, mummy to William, a Little Dipper at Kent Science Park:
“We've had a variety of teachers at KSP over the past year, but Daisy has stolen the show! She is so great with the children (and the mums!) and remembers everyone’s name! William loves her and the fact she always gives him a green float, green ring, green ball (Green is his favourite colour!) She takes time with all the children individually to ensure they are developing their swimming skills. We love her!”
The winning nomination was chosen by our friends Zoe and Gemma at Sense and Play, a multi-sensory development and interactive play toddler group based in Kent! Here’s why this nomination stood out to them:
“Working with children and parents we know all too well how it is the little things that can make a difference to an experience you have with a product or service that your child is provided. A key part of this, is remembering a child's name and observing what it is that the child likes / dislikes and identifying interests that can improve theirs and their parents experience. By ensuring the child has his favourite coloured items in a class, this teacher has gone above and beyond to make this child feel appreciated and special.
In addition to this, the nomination advises that the teacher spends quality time with each child to ensure they develop their swimming ability, by providing one to one support, in a situation, where I imagine they will also have to be aware of the other children in the pool.
We feel that this teacher is a worthy winner for Teacher of the Term and wish to congratulate them for providing an enjoyable and memorable experience for their classes”.
Daisy is a relatively new addition to our East Kent team, and we are so delighted that her efforts have been recognised, and she has clearly made a positive impact on her swimmers. Daisy has won our local Teacher of the Term competition in East Kent and is now through to the National competition! We are wishing you the best of luck!
Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination – it is so heart-warming to read your kind words, and it just confirms what we already know – our Teachers are the best!
Thank you again, and good luck Daisy!
