A little bit about me
Hi I’m Holly. I’m married to Andrew and we have a 4 year old called Isabelle, and live in Gloucester.
My role at Puddle Ducks Gloucestershire
I've been working for Puddle Ducks since September 2016 and I’m a Baby and Pre-school Teacher and also a Poolside Assistant. I teach at the Shrubberies, Milestone School and Sports Direct and I’m a Poolside Assistant at Honeybourne Gate and the Hallmark Hotel Leisure Club.
Why I love my job
I love both my roles as Teacher and Poolside Assistant. It's amazing to see the development of children as they move up through the programs. I just love to see how happy they are having fun in the water, while at the same time learning such valuable life skills.
Memorable moments in the pool
My most memorable moment was when one of my first-time swimmers gained their 5 metre distance award. She was only 2 years and 9 months and it was just incredible to watch her swim so far for such a tiny person.
My favourite class activity
Jumping! Whether it’s from the wall or float, it's lovely to see the confidence gained by swimmers over the weeks, until they master jumping independently. Their faces are just full of proud smiles - as are their parents.
My hobbies/interests
I love baking and crafting, especially for Christmas (which is my favourite time of year). I make all my own Christmas cards in August ready for December and I wish I could keep my Christmas tree up all year long!
Most memorable moment
My most memorable life moment was bringing my daughter home from hospital. She was born at 28 weeks and spent her first 8.5 weeks of life at Gloucester neonatal unit. It was just amazing to have her home with us.
My previous jobs
Before I was a Puddle Ducks teacher, I was a secondary school RE teacher.
Favourite place in the world
My favourite place in the world is the seaside. I have such great family memories of summers spent at the beach, splashing in the sea. It’s still my happy place to go.
My favourite food
My favourite food is Chinese takeaway... I could literally eat it every day!
