This year, Lindsey is swimming the 5km race on Sunday 29th of April at the Copley Recreation Centre and will be joined by her daughter Iona who will be swimming 60 lengths. Both Lindsey and Iona are super proud to be raising money for such amazing charities and for causes that are close to their hearts. Lindsey’s father and his partner were both diagnosed with kidney cancer and each had one kidney removed.
“I’m really looking forward to the race and beating my PB of 1:54, particularly as I’m going to be swimming with my daughter Iona who is 9. I am a great believer that all children should begin their swimming journeys as early as possible, swimming is a life-saving skill, but it also helps to keep you fit and healthy and is a brilliant way to have fun, so I hope to show my little swimmers in my class how you can combine all this and raise money for such a fab cause,” describes Lindsey.
