My Puddle Ducks Journey

Hear the story of Isobel, 9, as she comes to the end of her Puddle Ducks journey...

"Hi, I’m Isobel and I’ve been swimming with Puddle Ducks for about 8 years now and in that time, I’ve been in 2 swimming galas representing my school. I started in Little Dippers. I had a great time but I can only remember a bit of it and as mums do, they tell you how cute and how little you were when you first started.

Now I’m in Level Six, Swim Academy. I have great fun doing dives, perfecting my tumble turns off the wall and even doing front crawl. Puddle Ducks has helped my stamina and confidence build up as I went through the stages of swimming. Beck, my swim teacher, has helped me all through Level Six. We’ve had laughs, practising and wait for it … more practising. The only thing I don’t like about swimming is that I have to get up at 45 minutes past 7. I think I deserve a beauty sleep.

Anyway, so that’s my story of my time at Puddle Ducks. Hope you enjoyed it. Bye for now. Quack, Quack!"

Mum, Becky, said "Both of my children have been swimming with Puddle Ducks since they were very young. My daughter, who's now nearly 10,  started as a Little Dipper and is now coming to the end of her Puddle Ducks journey in a Swim Academy level 6 class. My son started as a Kicker. He's 7 now and thoroughly enjoys his Level 5 Swim Academy class.

They've both turned into really confident swimmers. Puddle Ducks and Swim Academy classes not only teach children how to 'travel in a doggy paddle style' through the water but to swim a great number of different strokes correctly. We feel so proud when we go on holiday and other people comment on their fabulous swimming technique. They've also been taught throughout the years how to be safe in the water when in potentially dangerous scenarios and how to help others in difficulty.

They absolutely love their classes. We're so pleased to have given our children such an important life skill."
