Charity PJ Week 2025 is nearly here!

The start of the autumn term at Puddle Ducks Mid Cheshire can only mean one thing - our Charity PJ Week is nearly upon us once again!

Once a term, we run our fabulous PJ Week lessons, where all our swimmers - and their grown-ups too! - can come to their lessons wearing pyjamas over their regular swimming attire. This gives our little ones a chance to feel what it is like to be in the water fully-clothed, and practice the self-rescue skills that are woven throughout all of our lessons, with the added weight of clothing. As most accidental submersions in water happen when wearing clothes, this is an essential part of preparing our swimmers to be safe and respect the water when they are out and about.

However, our autumn term PJ week is even more special, as it allows us the opportunity to show our support for a fantastic charity, Children's Hospital Pyjamas. This is the third year of our partnership with this wonderful charity, who collect brand new pyjamas to deliver to children in hospital, hospice care, and those in sheltered accommodation. This allows the children to have something of their own that is new and comfortable to wear, whilst experiencing often sudden and unexpected hardship.

To support the work this fantastic charity do, we are asking our swimmers, if you are able, to bring a new pair of pyjamas, with tags, to your swimming lessons during our Charity PJ Week, which runs from the 6th to the 12th of October. We will have donation boxes available at the reception desk at Barons Quay and Seashell, and your teachers will be able to collect donations from those at Brooklands, Delta, and Everlast Macclesfield. Alternatively, you can also make a financial contribution, details of which will be sent out to customers soon.

Thank you so much in advance for your fantastic support, and we can't wait to see our swimmers in their pyjamas in a few weeks' time!
