Charity PJ Week goes with a blast!

October is a very important month in the calendar here at Puddle Ducks Mid Cheshire, as it is when we embark on Charity PJ Week!

October is a very important month in the calendar here at Puddle Ducks Mid Cheshire, as it is when we embark on Charity PJ Week! Once a term, we run our fantastic PJ Week lessons, which are all about learning those vital water safety skills that could be lifesaving if your little one ever fell into the water fully clothed.

Whilst each and every one of our swimming lessons contains an element of water safety, our Charity PJ week gives all our little swimmers a chance to see what it might feel like to be in the water with their clothes on. As most accidents happen while you’re fully clothed, wearing their pyjamas gives children a great indication of what this feels like and how it feels to move in the water whilst weighed down by clothes.

Whilst our PJ Week lessons are as full of songs, games, and opportunities for play as our regular lessons, we also include valuable water safety skills and age-appropriate water safety information, such as what signs and flags to look out for by swimming pools or at the beach, and how to tell where the deep end of a swimming pool might be. Every single activity is included for a reason so that, should your child ever get into difficulty in the water, they know how to respond.

On top of this, we also use our autumn term PJ week as an opportunity to support a fantastic charity, whose mission is very close to our hearts. For the last two years, that charity has been the wonderful Children's Hospital Pyjamas, who collect brand new pairs of pyjamas to donate to children in hospital, hospices and women's refuges year-round, but especially over Christmas time.

So thank you to each and every one of our brilliant customers who have also taken the time to donate a pair to this great cause!
