This week, Puddle, along with our fabulous teacher Charlotte, made their first Water Safety visits of Winter 2025, to schools across Macclesfield! They spoke to over 300 Key Stage 1 children about how to identify dangers around water, especially during the winter when ice and snow can make lakes and rivers more dangerous than usual; how to self-rescue if they were to fall into water; and what to do if they saw someone else in trouble in the water too, including calling 999 for help. The children were all brilliant, giving amazing answers to Charlotte's questions, and even helping to rescue Puddle using reach and throw rescues!
Thank you to the staff and children at Upton Priory School, Bollinbrook CE Primary School, and Whirley Primary School - you were all incredible!
Our next round of Water Safety talks are scheduled for next week, in nurseries around Hale Barns! If you would like to book a Water Safety visit from Charlotte and Puddle for your school or nursery, please contact us at [email protected], and we will get in touch!
