Vote for the charity you'd like to support for our next PJ Week

Vote from our shortlist

Our next Pyjama Week is coming in just a few weeks and this time we have decided to raise money for a local children’s charity. We asked our Puddle Ducks customers for nominations of charities close to their hearts and after an overwhelming response, have shortlisted four local children’s charities. We would now like to ask you to vote for one of the four of the following:

Ruby’s Fund

Ruby is a little girl who was diagnosed with a chromosomal abnormality at birth.  Her parents have tirelessly campaigned for a sensory facility in the local area and opened one a couple of years ago.

The purpose of Ruby’s Fund is to run an inclusive sensory centre and social café for children and young people with additional needs and disabilities, and their families, carers and friends to provide a safe stimulating environment giving individuals and groups the chance to explore and develop in an inclusive setting which is also ideal for therapy, relaxation, education and most importantly friendship and fun.

The team of volunteers at Ruby’s fund are fantastic and are always looking for ways to help local families with children with additional needs.

Ollie’s Army

Ollie’s Army has been nominated by one of our Puddle Ducks families, whose Dad is an old school friend of his Dad. Their family is going through a really tough time after Ollie was diagnosed with a very rare genetic illness called Late-infantile Batten Disease. This cruel disease will rob their beautiful baby boy of the ability to walk, talk, swallow, play and see. Batten disease is always fatal and children normally pass away between the ages of 6 and 12 years. As a family they are completely devastated and are determined to do as much as they can to make sure that Ollie enjoys life as much as possible.

All funds raised will go towards Ollie’s ongoing care, the purchase of specialist equipment and the inevitable home alterations needed as well as helping to fund future research into Batten Disease, in the hope that one day a cure will be found. Monies raised will also be used to help achieve the ‘Wishlist’ of exciting experiences and adventures the family would like to enjoy together whilst they are still able to, so they can create treasured memories, spend precious time together and make every single second of Ollie’s life full of the love and happiness he deserves.

Millie's Trust

Millie's Trust was created by the parents of Millie Thompson who tragically passed away in a choking incident in October 2012. They turned their grief into something positive by creating Millie’s Trust and what they have achieved in order to try and keep other children safe is amazing.

They believe that everyone should have access to First Aid Training no matter what their situation in life is. Their aim is to make First Aid training readily available for minimal costs and in as many places as possible.

Visyon

Visyon is a charity that supports the emotional health of children, young people and their families in the Cheshire and Staffordshire Moorlands areas.

If you are a child or young person, Visyon can help you improve your mental health so that you feel better about yourself and the things that happen in your day-to-day life. If you are a parent, grandparent or carer, you can go to them to gain the skills to give your child the support they need.

One of our Puddle Ducks families received great support from this charity, when all NHS services were refused. Visyon provided the support they needed and craved so badly as a family unit.
