New Puddle Ducks baby & Pre-School classes at the brand new Percy Hedley hydrotherapy pool

Puddle Ducks have relished seeing this wonderful pool come to life.

It’s a dream come true for the Percy Hedley Foundation who have recently opened their £1m state of the art pool in Killingworth. The facility will enable the charity to offer vital hydrotherapy, which provides invaluable benefits to disabled children and adults with cerebral palsy.

Puddle Ducks have been working with the school for 2 years now, helping their splash appeal to raise the funds required.  Our teacher Lisa and Neil (Husband of Poolside Assistant Anna) walked quite literally on hot coals to raise money for the appeal and teacher Caroline did a midnight zipwire from the top of the Baltic. We also have ran 2 pyjama weeks for the cause so each and every one of our Puddle Ducks have helped with this project.

Carolyn and Matt have loved visiting the facility along the way and seeing it develop from a hole in the ground to a beautiful pool and residential facility.

It was a momentous moment for us when our classes launched at the new pool on Saturday 16th April and will run Saturdays and Sundays, as well as Monday and Thursday tea times from June.

The pool is a lovely toasty 35°C with no less than 11 family size changing cubicles. Come along and see for yourself soon.
