Puddle Ducks Baby & Pre-school
Our Baby & Pre-school programme is a wonderful bonding experience. Progressive lesson plans instil a water confidence and a love of swimming whilst our nurturing teachers tailor activities to your child's abilities and needs.

Taught in lovely pools with a maximum of 10 children, our classes incorporate rhyme, music and movement based on extensive child development research. Our lessons are so well received that the children we teach can often swim over 10 metres before they start school.

We also run classes for older children in our Swim Academy classes, so we will be with you throughout your whole journey from baby to independent swimmer and who knows, maybe a future Olympic champion.

Whether your child is coming from a Pre-school class, or has never been in the water before, you can be sure that they will get the attention that they need as our activities are individually tailored to suit each child.

What Our Customers Think

Personally I am not a confident swimmer, and other than some throw away years as a fun loving surfer I really never spent that much time in the water. When I look back to my own upbringing I realised that learning to swim (beyond breaststroke) just wasn't a part of my family life. So determined to give Norah-Mae the opportunity to learn about the water and develop swimming confidence I decided that lessons early on would be the best way forward. After some research and chatting to Alison over the phone Puddle Ducks became our number one choice for our little girl - it seemed personal, friendly and skilled and if I'm honest the fact that she wouldn't have to be submerged on Day 1 was the deciding factor! We've now spent 4 weeks with Puddle Ducks and are amazed at what a precious time it is is for us all every week. During our first session Norah got over her hesitation in approximately ten minutes and hasn't been upset/scared/concerned since...most importantly neither has Dad who spends each session in the water with her. Seeing her do submersions, floating on the woggle, chasing toy ducks and yesterday demonstrating to the class have been some of my proudest moments as a parent. Ultimately this has little to do with us as parents but everything to do with the straight forwards, confident, friendly teaching Alison brings each week combined with new songs, new activities and different swimming tasks. She always provided options for activities depending on the baby needs and is always clear, detailed and safety conscious. We were of the thought that we would do this course, learn some skills and then go solo but that notion has long gone - we can't wait to take Norah on her journey with Puddle Ducks for many years to come. I just suppose that at some point I should get in the pool myself to overcome my own fear as quite simply my 6 month old daughter is putting me to shame! Rachael and Norah-Mae
