STAR TEACHER AWARD WINNER Spring Summer 2025

    📣📣STAR TEACHER AWARD WINNER📣📣

We are delighted to announce our amazing teacher Verity as our Spring / Summer 2025 Star Teacher WINNER!!!

The winning nomination came from Amelia W & Ellis who swim with Verity in Floaties at Cedar Court.

"Verity has been very welcoming and friendly from the start, which I needed on first attending. Being a first time mum, and not having taken babies/children swimming before, Verity was understanding and considerate. Verity takes the time to explain why we do different activities and how to do them safely, which I really appreciate. Verity knows how to make the lessons a good learning experience whilst making it fun at the same time. Verity gives me confidence with my son and with me doing activities in the pool with him too"

We had over 70 nominations for our Star Teacher nominations and and the tricky job of picking our winner falls to our lovely friend Ashley Bayles from MummyFit Bradford, Halifax & Huddersfield. Check out MummyFIT for all your pre and postnatal fitness and nutrition needs!

It was super tough as they all seem deserving of being star teacher! I think it's so important to get to know your members/clients/babies and it was so lovely to read so many of the nominations mentioning how the teachers have that personal approach, tailoring their teaching to the individual children's needs. It shows they're not just numbers and that the teachers really do take the time to get to know them, which will of course have such an amazing impact on the children.

However, I can only pick one! Obviously its crucial to support the children and get to know them, but this one made me think back to being a first time mum, being nervous at baby classes (including the swimming sessions I took my son to - not Puddle Ducks) and sometimes just feeling a bit lost and unsure as to what to do/where to stand/how to support etc.  It was really nice to read the mum's nomination as to how she felt equally supported in the sessions too, which in turn has helped her to help her son.

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to nominate their teacher, of course to Amelia & Ellis for your nomination, and to Ashley for choosing our winner. Congratulations Verity, you are AMAZING xx
