We are delighted to announce the winner of our 'Star Teacher' Award for Spring 2020 is VERITY HOWES!
Verity joined our team as a poolside assistant way back in 2012!! During this time Verity has trained as a Baby & Pre-School teacher, Swim Academy Teacher and Elite Swim Academy Teacher then to progress even further to gain the higher Level 3 Diploma in Baby & Pre-School swimming teaching. Not only is she our Head of Teaching she has also more recently trained to become a Programme Assessor for Head Office too! If this isnt enough, Verity will also be training to deliver Aquanatal classes next week too! She is AMAZING!
Sandra Ford from Sandra Ford Photography had the very difficult job of choosing our winner from over 40 nominations sent in and said ...
"Oh my! What a task this was, each and every one of them deserves an award!
I managed to narrow it down to ten, then three and finally managed to make my decision based on the going above and beyond principle. This teacher took time out when she should have been on her way home and that is the one that did it for me. What an excellent set of teachers and some lovely comments and recommendations, they should all be very proud of themselves"
The winning nomination was sent in by Jane & Lily Teasdel.
"Lily says “ because she is very fun and helpful”. Verity (and all the teachers) are very patient! Verity is great at getting the kids to hear her from poolside!!! Verity encourages the kids to have a go even when they are unsure. I am still so grateful that on Lily’s first day in the new pool she took time out at the end of a lesson (when she should have been going home) to walk Lily around the pool to show her it wasn’t anything to be scared of"
