Meet the Teachers at Freedom Fitness

  • Jill

    Mondays and Tuesdays

After leaving school, my first job was as a lifeguard and sports teacher to many school aged children, which I thoroughly enjoyed. When I left the Leisure Centre I tried other jobs but nothing satisfied me quite like being in the pool and teaching environment. I joined Puddleducks because I not only believe in how important it is to learn to swim, but also to teach life preservation skills from a really young age. What I love most about being a Puddle Ducks teacher is that the classes are such fun - whilst still teaching important life skills. I also love being able to progress each child at their own pace. I really look forward to seeing you at a class soon.

I have always loved the water and have enjoyed swimming from a very young age.

After having my son Lewis in 2013 I decided that I wanted a change of career away from the daily commute into London and the media industry which I had been doing for the last 10 years. Instead I wanted a rewarding job that would fit in with family life.

I started looking for baby swimming classes for Lewis when I came across Puddle Ducks. I loved the classes and it was then that I decided to enquire about becoming a teacher. I haven't looked back since. As a parent I love seeing the enjoyment and confidence that Lewis has gained from his Puddle Ducks classes and I love being able to share this same enjoyment with other parents.

I have two children, a 6yr old mermaid and an 18 month old who is a mermaid in training... She just loves being in the water and I take them both swimming regularly as a fun activity, knowing that being able to swim is a really important life skill.

My background is as an IT Trainer within the NHS for 10+ years, but more recently I've made the lifestyle choice to work on the deli counter at Waitrose! I have always thought that teaching these skills would be such a rewarding job so when the opportunity to become a Puddle Ducks teacher came up I jumped at the chance!

I'm looking forward to teaching your little ones these skills and seeing them develop through safe, fun Puddle Ducks activities, making for lots of happy, confident water loving children.

I look forward to meeting you and your little swimmers soon!

From a young age I've always loved being in the water, the freedom..the fun..

It was a huge part of my childhood that has continued into my adult life - I enjoy swimming for fitness and scuba diving when I get the chance.

My passion has always been to work with children but unfortunately the opportunity didn't arise for me, and I ended up stuck in the monotony of commuting to the City to work in an office.

After the birth of my son I knew something had to change and when the chance to work for Puddle Ducks arose, I haven't looked back!

Working with children and teaching them such valuable skills in the water? The best job in the world!
