  • Jenny

Having been a competitive swimmer and lifeguard, Jenny is passionate about swimming and water safety.  She started Puddle Ducks West Yorkshire in 2011 when she was on maternity leave with her first child Daisy.

  • Marie

    Senior Teacher (Baby and Pre-School)

Marie joined Puddle Ducks in the Summer of 2017.  She decided to join Puddle Ducks as she has always loved swimming and working with young children. She has worked in childcare for the last 15 years in a variety of different roles starting as a nanny and progressing into her current full time role of a primary school teacher.

Marie feels the best thing about working for Puddle Ducks is seeing children confident and enjoying themselves in the water.  She loves getting to know both the children and parents in her classes, that bond she sees is so special and makes for safe, happy and enjoyable lessons.

In the spare time that she has, Marie enjoys getting out in the fresh air for a run, and going to the gym, her latest achievement is completing the Great North Run in 2017.

  • Amy

Senior Teacher (Baby & Pre-School and Swim Academy)

Amy is our longest serving teacher here in West Yorkshire.  She started as a poolside assistant in 2014, training to become a teacher in 2015, moving to become Senior Teacher in 2016.  She has always loved swimming and trained with a club when she was younger, she also tried her first open water swimming event last year and loved it. Her 10 year old daughter Amelia completed our Swim Academy program and is a great swimmer and loves being in the water too.

Amy used to work full time in an office before starting Puddle Ducks but wanted something that gave a better work/life balance while also doing something she’s passionate about.  She has never looked back and feels so lucky and grateful that she loves what she does and that she can look forward to going to work every day. From watching a tiny baby fall asleep during a floating exercise, to gaining a toddlers trust and seeing their confidence grow, right through to seeing a child swim 25 metres front crawl beautifully; it really is the best and most rewarding job ever and she also gets to spend lots more quality time with her family.

  • Lucy

Teacher (Baby & Pre-School and Swim Academy)

Lucy started her Puddle Ducks journey in 2016.  After the birth of her first child, Freddie, she really wanted to start something new that gave her the chance to have a great work/family/life balance.  Before joining Puddle Ducks Lucy worked in retail for 8 years....

The best and most rewarding thing about Puddle Ducks for Lucy is getting to see swimmers achieve and enjoy life skills every day, not forgetting the brilliant smiles and dances they do for ‘jelly on a plate’!

  • Rebecca

    Teacher (Baby & Pre-School)

Rebecca joined Puddle Ducks and started her training in September 2017, she now teaches our weekend classes at DW Fitness in Yeadon.  Rebecca used to work in HR but after the birth of her first son, she decided she wanted a better work/life balance and discovered Puddle Ducks.  She has been taking her son swimming since he was eight weeks old and feels passionately that it is a vital life skill that everyone should learn.

Rebecca is also a dairy farmer’s wife who loves nothing more than being out and about with all the animals, in her down time (when she manages to find some) she writes a blog all about being on the farm!

Rebecca is currently on maternity leave after the birth of her third child.

  • Michelle

    Teacher (Baby & Pre-School)

Michelle joined Puddle Ducks in January 2019 as a poolside assistant and has since completed her training and is now a Baby and PreSchool teacher. She is recently married to her husband Carl and they have a boisterous 2 and a half year old called Billy who keeps them firmly on their toes, along with their rescue cat Pancake.

Michelle absolutely loves swimming, and being a Pisces she feels like she was born to be around water! She satisfied this need for five years by running away to work on cruise ships in which she travelled around the world sailing the seven seas. However, since she returned and ‘settled down’, Michelle works part time at Leeds Beckett University in a project management role, but also trained to be a Baby and Pre-school swimming teacher whilst she was on maternity leave in 2016. She took a break from teaching early in 2018, but is delighted to be still involved in delivering lessons with Puddle Ducks as a poolside assistant. Michelle loves seeing the babies and children just thriving in the water, and especially when the nervous ones develop and become super confident little swimmers! It’s so rewarding – and she love singing so is always singing along to the songs poolside!

Rebecca has been working with us here at Puddle Ducks West Yorkshire since July 2016, she’s one of the friendly voices at the other end of the phone, sorting out your bookings, payments and making Puddle Ducks fit around your busy lifestyle.

Previously Rebecca worked as a Purchasing Executive for Zenith Vehicle Contracts and made the career move to Puddle Ducks to tie in with her eldest son Freddie starting full time school as the part time hours fitted perfectly around her family life. Freddie has also previously enjoyed Puddle Ducks classes as a Little Dippers where he built amazing water confidence!

  • Vicky
