We’ve been lucky to welcome some incredible Star Teacher judges over the years, but this term felt extra special. Why? Because Puddle the Duck was invited to the ITV West Country studios to meet our judge – the much-loved news anchor Alex Lovell.
Alex gave the team a tour of the studios and even let Sarah practice with the autocue..it was very tricky!
Alex had the challenging task of selecting a winner from more than 120 Star Teacher nominations submitted by families whose children swim with Puddle Ducks in both our Baby & Pre-school and Swim Academy lessons.
After reading through all the heartfelt entries, Alex eventually chose a nomination....to be announced on Friday afternoon (today)!
Alex was deeply moved by the nomination, saying: “I was absolutely bowled over by my chosen nomination. Clearly every swimming lesson is a huge bonding experience for this child and her mummy. For nearly three years they've been coming along to lessons with the same teacher, and that says a huge amount about the fun they've had in the pool.
Puddle Ducks is clearly a huge part of their lives and, as mum says in the nomination, their teacher has been a huge boost to her daughter's confidence!
