As a Puddle Ducks baby and pre-school swimming teacher, laughter and bubbles will be your every day! Nurturing children’s swimming potential, you’ll be giving the gift of complete freedom and pleasure in the water, splash by splash.

It takes someone very special to become a baby and pre-school swimming teacher. You’ll be providing our students with a skill for life, possibly even saving lives as you equip them with water survival skills.

At Puddle Ducks, we are dedicated to delivering classes of the highest standards to our customers, with all of our programmes having been developed by swimming experts, based on the latest research. You’ll become an expert in the swimming field, benefitting from some of the most comprehensive training in the industry, working for a trailblazer in the marketplace.

What we’re looking for:

  • Love of water and a love of children
  • Passion to give babies the gift of complete freedom and pleasure in the water
  • Commitment to spending several hours in a swimming pool, with training over several months
  • Ability to swim 25m, with the confidence to dive to the bottom of a pool 2m deep
  • Access to a car with a clean driving licence
  • Willingness to offer occasional cover if required
  • No previous swimming teaching experience as full training will be provided, however STA/ Swim England teaching and lifesaving qualifications would be beneficial
  • Desire to achieve a rewarding career, filled with smiles and giggles!

    Admin - Weekdays, Teaching - Saturdays

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Teaching babies and toddlers to swim in warm, hand-picked, premium pools
    • Incorporating rhyme, music and movement based on extensive child development research into your classes
    • Supporting parents with an unique bonding experience with their baby as they enjoy the water together
    • Nurturing a love of swimming and a confidence in the water with babies and pre-schoolers aged from birth to 4 years old
    • Enjoying flexible working around your commitments, with the opportunity to increase teaching hours as your classes build up
    • Assisting the admin team with customer communications

  • Poolside Assistant

    Saturdays - Ashbourne

    Saturday shift


    The Poolside Assistant works alongside a teacher to help take care of customers attending our classes, meeting and greeting, explaining procedures, answering questions, getting to know children and their carers and generally helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our clients. The Poolside Assistant is also responsible for keeping the poolside, equipment and changing rooms clean and tidy and free from hazards.


    Our business is totally dependent upon our customers having the best experience possible when bringing their babies to our classes. Commitment, loyalty and the ability to create a good rapport with carers, and small children are all absolutely essential.


    You will need to be pro-active at spotting when customers or the teacher needs your assistance or support.
    Customer care is foremost, as well as a clean, smart appearance. You also need a pleasant and outgoing personality as we would expect you to be able to anticipate and respond to your customers’ needs.
    We would expect you to work as part of a team at all times.

    You need good communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure you maintain excellent relationships with both your customers and the wider Puddle Ducks team.
