When Beccy, owner of Puddle Ducks Oxfordshire, started the business 15 years ago, her daughters Izzy and Millie were just little girls growing up alongside the franchise.
Like so many of our swimmers, they spent their early years splashing in the pool, building water confidence and making wonderful memories through Puddle Ducks lessons. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong love of the water, and today both girls are competitive swimmers, training and competing regularly while continuing to develop their own swimming skills.
Fast forward 15 years, and they're now playing an important part in helping the next generation of children learn to love the water.
Izzy is one of our fantastic Swim Academy teachers, inspiring children aged 4–10 to become confident, capable swimmers, while younger sister Millie is a valued Poolside Assistant, supporting our teachers and helping to ensure every family enjoys a warm and welcoming experience at lessons.
For Beccy, seeing her daughters grow from tiny Puddle Ducks into members of the team is a real full-circle moment.
"It's incredibly special to see them both working in the business that has been such a huge part of our family life for the past 15 years. They've grown up around our amazing teachers, our wonderful customers and, of course, the pools. Their passion for swimming has stayed with them, and seeing them both compete in the sport they love while also inspiring the next generation of swimmers makes me immensely proud."
At Puddle Ducks Oxfordshire, we believe learning to swim is about so much more than mastering a life-saving skill. It's about building confidence, creating opportunities and fostering a lifelong love of the water.
Izzy and Millie's journey is a wonderful example of where that journey can begin. From little Puddle Ducks to competitive swimmers and now valued members of our team, they're helping to inspire the next generation of children to enjoy everything that swimming has to offer.
