The award recognises outstanding swimming teachers who go above and beyond to support children and families during their learn-to-swim journey. Lynn received an overwhelming nomination from a local family, praising her encouragement, passion and ability to help every swimmer thrive with confidence.
The heartfelt nomination said:
“Lynn truly deserves to be recognised as a Star Teacher because she is simply outstanding in every way. Her encouragement is constant, genuine and incredibly uplifting, helping every child feel capable and proud of themselves. She has a wonderful ability to meet each swimmer at their individual level, offering the right support and challenge to help them progress with confidence.
“Every lesson is fun, engaging and full of energy, with her fantastic interactions and songs bringing so much joy to the experience. She always takes the time to speak with parents, showing real care and interest in every child and family.
“Thanks to her and Evie, our son absolutely loves swimming, has grown in confidence, and is achieving incredible milestones we never imagined possible. Honestly Lynn is the best and deserves to be noticed as such an incredible teacher.”
The judging panel included local cake maker The Grove Cake Co owner Pam, who said choosing a winner was incredibly difficult due to the high standard of nominations received from families across the region.
Pam said:
“It was honestly so hard to pick a winner, as there were so many wonderful nominations. This one stood out to me as it sounds like she is a passionate, talented teacher who really loves what she does and genuinely cares for her students and families.”
Puddle Ducks Oxfordshire runs baby and child swimming lessons across Oxfordshire, helping children aged 0–10 years build confidence, learn life-saving skills and develop a lifelong love of swimming.
The team thanked all families who took the time to nominate teachers this term, adding that every nomination is shared with staff and means a huge amount to the teaching team.
