Ali Beckman is a qualified ASA, STA and Birthlight teacher as well as being an STA swimming, aquacise and lifesaving tutor, assessor and IQA. She is a UK leading expert in swimming teaching, highly regarded within the industry. Ali works closely with the Swimming Teachers' Association (STA) which is the largest swimming and lifesaving teacher training company in the world, acting as a Trustee for the charity.
Her favourite course to deliver is the STA Level 3 Diploma in Aquatic Teaching – Baby & Pre-School. She says, “I love empowering already qualified baby swimming teachers to deliver even better lessons, to have the knowledge to be able to understand the science behind their teaching and to educate parents and children”.
Away from tutoring, Ali is Puddle Ducks' Technical Director and Head Teacher, heading up a team of tutors, programme assessors and 'Super Teachers' who train and support the wonderful network of teachers at Puddle Ducks.
Tina Byatt has extensive experience as a qualified STA and ASA swimming teacher and coach, as well as being an aquacise teacher and pool plant trained with the STA. She holds STA tutor status in swimming, lifesaving, and aquacise, as well as being an STA examiner and qualified IQA. Her favourite course to deliver is the STA L2 Certificate: “It is great to be able to develop teacher’s basic swimming teaching knowledge, taking those foundations of swimming teaching, and using my experience as a club coach, to help them to understand the complexities of stroke/skill development and the fun to be had with developing swimmers through the higher end of the Learn to Swim pathways.” Tina also works closely with the STA on a number of working groups.
Away from tutoring, Tina works as Technical Development Manager for Puddle Ducks where she is responsible for reviewing/maintaining/updating their Swim Academy and Elite Swim Academy programme levels (school aged learn-to-swim lessons) as well as having a high degree of input into the Baby & Pre-school programme development, course development and teacher resources. She also provides health and safety/pool operations support to the Puddle Ducks franchisees.
Nici Wragge is a qualified STA teacher as well as being an STA Swimming and Lifesaving Tutor, Examiner and IQA. Nici is also an STA Diploma Tutor. Her favourite course to tutor is the STA SAT, She says “coming from a lifesaving background, I have the ability to impart my knowledge and passion for saving lives in and around water”.
Away from tutoring Nici is the Technical Services Manager for Puddle Ducks, supporting the growing network of teachers across the country with in-house training, assessing, technical support and compliance. Nici is linked to the Water Safety/Personal survival elements of each program having moved into teaching from a lifesaving background, Nici started out as a TA for the RLSS before adding the STA to her role.
Julie Dugdale is a qualified STA swimming and aquacise teacher as well as being an STA swimming and lifesaving tutor and examiner. In her spare time Julie coaches a competitive diving squad and is also a Swim England Team Manager for Tynemouth Amateur Swimming Club.
Away from tutoring, Julie carries out the role of Puddle Ducks Regional Technical Manager for the North East, providing technical support to franchisees and teachers in baby swimming, Swim Academy and Aquanatal.
Rebecca Turner-Wyld is a qualified STA teacher as well as an STA tutor for Baby & Pre-School and the Teachers' Safety Award. Rebecca loves tutoring the BPS course and seeing them take their very first steps into such a rewarding and fulfilling job.
Away from tutoring, Bex, as she is known, carries out the role of Regional Technical Manager for Puddle Ducks in the South East, supporting franchisees and teachers in the areas of baby swimming and Swim Academy.
