Hello and a very warm welcome to Puddle Ducks, East Lancashire.
I’m Jo and I’m delighted to be bringing Puddle Ducks to Bolton, Blackburn, Burnley, Clitheroe, Farnworth, Nelson, Rochdale, Swinton, Worsley and the surrounding area.
I’ve been taking my children, Erin and Liam, to baby swimming classes since they were only a few weeks old so I know that you’ll have lots of fun at a Puddle Ducks class. If you’re looking for a great way to spend some quality time with your little one while also learning valuable water safety skills then this is definitely for you!
Each class, which lasts 30 minutes, is a carefully balanced set of activities including group and individual work, swimming, submersion, floating, songs and games. I just know that you will both love it!

Underwater Photo Shoot
I am pleased to announce our first ever underwater photo shoot will take place on Sunday 30th October at Springwood Primary School in Swinton. Details have been e-mailed this morning. Teacher of the Term - Autumn 2011
Jo Gribben from Puddle Ducks East Lancashire was delighted to learn that she has been awarded the Puddle Ducks ‘Teacher of the Term’ for Autumn 2011. Jo was nominated by customer Eliza Windridge. Eliza wins a £10 credit towards future courses. She wrote: We have recently adopted a boy, and shortly after we got him, we took him swimming at our local pool, he hated it, he screamed so much it was unbearable. We both really wanted him to learn the life skill, but were worried about ever taking him to a pool again. A friend told me about Puddle Ducks and I contacted Jo by email. She was so patient, kind and helpful with my enquiries and reassuring that he would love and be looked after in the classes. I decided to be brave and give it ago, and haven't regretted it once, in fact he amazes me every week with his confidence and enjoyment. She really makes the children feel special and important, she goes out of her way to ask how he is doing and about the adoption process, I have asked to swap a couple of sessions a few times for a different day because I could make the usual one, she responded to my text immediately and a new session convenient to me was arrange. I know that was more than 50 words, but I can't recommend enough. She's great.
The competition, which was run through the Puddle Ducks customer newsletter and Facebook page, was judged by Damian Hughes (www.liquidthinker.com). Damian is an international speaker, best-selling author and sports psychology consultant who takes the insights, methods and lessons by business, sports and history's greatest achievers and shares them through his speaking, training and books to help others enjoy similar success. This is what Damian had to say: The feedback for Jo Gribben (East Lancashire) was stunning. I really loved her approach outside of the lessons, such as taking an interest in the adoption process as well as being so responsive and flexible to the changing needs of a busy parent really made her stand out for me. I have no doubt that all of the teachers have great capability when it comes to the actual teaching but Jo’s additional impact outside of the pool and her responsiveness obviously makes her a great example and representative of Puddle Ducks. Thank you Damian and huge congratulations to Jo Gribben!!! .

Dear Jo
I'm just emailing to say a huge thank you for your fantastic work teaching Joseph to swim. As you will remember he was absolutely terrified of the water and had to be carried by me into the pool screaming. We peservered and your fun and patient approach worked.
It's amazing, he is like a different child. He jumps in from the side, loves the water & doesn't want to come out! We can't thank you enough.
I thoroughly recommend your classes. We are only stopping as Joseph is now going to school so we can't make weekday classes. Thanks again, Lee, Ian, Alice & (most of all) Joseph X
