Choosing a winning nomination
Nominations this term were judged by Helena Broadbent, who runs Edge Lane Books
Helena comments: “I was thrilled to be asked to judge the Autumn Star Teacher award, although it was a really hard task! Thank you for asking me to be part of this, it seems all the teachers are superstars & the children are extremely lucky."

The winning nomination
The winning nomination came from Kodi's mother, Nikita, who swims at our Aqua Nurture pool in Gee Cross.
"We nominate Jo. Although my son has not been attending for very long, Jo has gone above and beyond following his first trial session. My little boy is definitely a wild child and I nearly quit straight away. Jo really took her time to email me back replying to all of my concerns and put my mind at so much ease, I’m so grateful for that because every class since I’ve watched him engage, enjoy, laugh and learn so much each time and also found it a lovely moment to bond and reconnect with him which I can’t put into words how much that means. His class is now our favourite day of the week, he’s so excited every time we arrive. Jo is so engaging with all the children, she knows when to encourage and step back she’s really in tune with all the kids and so observant of their behaviour. I’ve found her really supportive when my toddler is just being a typical toddler. She’s always managed to get a giggle out of him and got him to tune back in. A very warm lady with great knowledge and skills with little ones and swimming. I couldn’t recommend her enough!."
This term's wonderful winning nomination will now be sent on to our Head Office to be entered into the National Puddle Ducks Star Teacher award - Good Luck Jo!
