Katie first got to know us back in 2013, when she came along to Aquanatal classes as a mum-to-be at Our Pool in Wrington. Fast forward to today, and her daughter Addison, who was in Katie's tummy for Aquanatal, has just graduated from Swim Academy!
Katie's teacher, Tina, spotted her potential right away and snapped her up to train for Swim Academy. Katie joined the team and quickly formed a brilliant working partnership with co teacher Annette. They were the dream team!
Since then, Katie has trained to teach Elite Swim Academy, and later Baby and Preschool, now her favourite classes to teach, although she'll tell you she loves them all! Alongside her teaching, Katie is also one of our Senior Teachers, mentoring new teachers and supporting the whole team.
Katie is known for being firm, direct, and brilliant fun in equal measure. Before Puddle Ducks she was an Army Officer, so keeping a class under control is second nature to her. But she has a soft side too, and falls completely in love with her young swimmers. You only had to see her saying goodbye to her recent graduates, many of whom had swum with her for 10 years, to see it. There wasn't a dry eye in the pool!
