Blog - Franchisee Donna is honoured by Mumpreneur UK

Donna Taylor honoured by mumpreneur UK
South Leicestershire franchisee, Donna Taylor, was thrilled to receive an email this week from Mumpreneur UK telling her that she had been chosen by them in their Top 100 List of best small businesses for 2011.
Laura Rigney from Mumpreneur UK told Donna:
"If you haven't already seen our list of top 100 Mumpreneurs - then CONGRATULATIONS.......you're on it! The competition was stiff and there were so many entries that it took us 4 weeks longer to go through them than we had originally allowed. Once again, Congratulations!".
Donna has been South Leicestershire franchisee for just over a year and has just reached the benchmark of 100 customers. She told us:
Mumpreneur UK were asking Mums in business to come forward and tell them why they choose to set-up their own businesses.
I explained that I chose to make the break from a management career in a blue chip company after having children as I found the work life balance very difficult, it soon became clear that unless I was prepared to place my children in full time childcare my career was going to progress no further.
It was a scary decision to leave job security and a guaranteed income in order to set out on my own, but I knew it was the right one for me and my family. I chose to buy a Puddle Ducks Franchise because I’m incredibly passionate about giving children the best start in life. Puddle Ducks is a proven business success with the back up and support of a fantastic management team and other franchisees was too good an opportunity to miss.
It’s been an exciting roller coaster ride since purchasing the franchise, running your own business is hard work but it’s very rewarding and I have never once looked back. This is such a great way to start 2012 and I'm really looking forward to the year ahead!"

Donna is a shining example of just how much women can achieve and still run a happy home and bring up a family. Well done and well deserved. Looking forward to seeing Donna exceed and be the successful person she is already.
